Job Purpose Summary: The Internship Manager (IM) works with the stakeholders in the different internship programs hosted at the Bang College of Business (BCB): Students, faculty internship advisors, companies, ministries, other governmental agencies, other public and private providers of internship placements. The IC establishes partnerships, prepares contracts and deals with all administrative matters related to the internship programs.
Performs internship search, establishes contracts with potential host organizations for student’s placements, maintains and develops relations with these organizations
Ensures contracts and other legal documents necessary for internship, signed by the official host organizations
Advises and consults students in relation to iinternship placement opportunities
Advises students on registration procedures, removes registration blocks in compliance with catalog requirements
Advises students on organizational questions regarding internship
Facilitates communication between internship supervisors in the host organizations and faculty members
Prepares and creates PR materials about internship
Organizes the selection process of students for internship under special partnership arrangements, if necessary ; the list of organizations can be changed depending on what organizations concluded the contracts on Internship with BCB-KIMEP)
Prepares information and presentation materials to be distributed by student interns to interested organizations and individuals; develops and produces internship journals, lists with photos, badges, etc
Participates in the organization of joint projects of the internship office, relevant academic units and hosting organizations
Ensures diligent preparation of the internship documents in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science
Works on proposals for improving internship
Cooperates on internship matters with internship coordinators at the Bang College of Business;
Updates information regarding internship on the KIMEP website
Takes over tasks from other administrative staff of BCB as operationally necessary;
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Dean
The Internship Manager assists the College in interdepartmental communications within the College and in communications with other units at KIMEP.
To oversee physical resources of the college (general supplies, projectors, paper, desks, ets) To handle all the logistics issues for the college and its departments. This includes technical and office supplies provision
To receive new faculty members at the airport and to work closely with housing department for accommodation
To help new faculty members adapt to KIMEP by taking care of such of matters as registration with the visa coordinator the computer center(to create email accounts)the library(library cards)etc
To organize orientation sessions for the new faculty and students within the college
To communicate with othr academic and non-academic departments when needed
To work closely with HR division of KIMEP
To act and public relation officer for the college
To assist in the organization of seminars, round tables and workshops on the behalf of the college
Other duties as asked by the Dean
Master’s degree from a recognized university
2 years experience in education administration, counseling, or other relevant fields is an asset;
Familiarity with concepts and practices of different credit systems of higher education; and dual education in HEIs
Strong work ethics, teamwork and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills with diverse populations such as employers, staff, students, parents and faculty
Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English, Russian and Kazakh
Computer literacy
Creative, strategic and analytical thinking with the ability to manage multiple projects
